Our name Hlavensky comes from the czechian or slowakian language. The most possible explaination ist the conection wth the place where they came from= of Hlavno
But fact and proofed in many old Czech documents we have, is the name written Hlavensky. The oldest known ancestor is the forester Frantisek Hlavensky (familytree) from middle bohemia. He came from Markt Bischitz, now Bisyce. His wife Marie Wirt came from Muenchengraetz now Mnichovo Hradiste.
Their son Jan Krtitl (Johann), born in Markt Bischitz, was married with Maria Josepha Schlambor (origin Slambor, eventually written Schlamborn, Schlambora or Schlamber) from Muenchengraetz now Mnichovo Hradiste, Bohemia, daughter of Jan Slambor and Marie Sina. He was also forester and a master of pheasant and served at chateau Moritzburg near Dresden later they lived in Schlenzer, Mark Brandenburg, and he died in a hospital in Culmsee (now Poland).
They have had three son´s: Rudolf, Berthold and Karl. All three became Forester. The known serve places of Rudolf are: Forester at chateau Endersdorf, Grottkau Upper Silesia. In 1913 he lived in Münchenbernsdorf and in 1923 he lived in Leipzig. His son, or more, migrated to Brazil. Berthold served as forester at Chateau Moritzburg too, where his son Berthold was born. The younger son Theodor migrated 1913 to USA and both Berthold followed him in 1923. Karl served as forester in Solarz, Posen, in Bratislava and then he had a pheasant house in Goldbach, Schwiebus Kreis Züllichau. He died young, unknown. Four sons: Karl, Wilhem, Rudolf and Eugen. The youngest was my grandfather.
Nowadays we know the location of that name or relatives:
Hlavensky : Germany, Brazil.
Hlawensky: USA, Germany, Brazil
possible spelling of the name: Hlav(w)enski, Lav(w)ensky(i), Klav(w)ensky, Laven, Lawen. The names Laven, Lawen, Lavensky are common names in the States. But they are most without any connection to our name or unproofable.
