Tis family cames from upper Silesia. the oldest known, Gottlieb Gnerlich lived in Tatischau / Gleiwitz. Eduard Gnerlich, were born in Tatischau / Gleiwitz in 1840. He served as forester by the Prince of Hohenlohe and Ratibor on his castle of Ratibor. He married Maria Zimmermann, daughter of Rudolph Zimmermann and Johanna Dien, born 1843 in Tatischau. Their daughter Anna Julia Olga Gnerlich were educated by private Teacher with the prince childs at castle. His brother Ernst also served as forester too for the Prince at forest warden´s Georgenwerk.
